How Can I Save Money On Business Insurance?

How can I save money on my business insurance?

Here are some ways to save money on business insurance:

1. Shop around.

Prices vary from company to company, so it pays to use an Independent Agent who can compare more than one company for you.  It's also important to pick a company that is financially stable. Check the financial health of insurers with rating companies such as A.M. Best and Standard & Poor's and consult consumer magazines.

2. Choose a higher deductible.

Deductibles represent the amount of money you pay before your insurance policy kicks in. The higher the deductible, the less you will pay for the policy.

3. Buy a package policy.

It can sometimes be cheaper to purchase a package policy, such as a Businessowners Policy (BOP), rather than individual coverages. A package policy provides standard coverages and limits of liability that are appropriate for typical small-to-medium-sized businesses.

4. Work closely with your agent or broker.

Your insurance professional can provide invaluable advice to help protect your business from unexpected disasters. But you need to keep him or her informed about any major changes in your business. This includes major purchases, expansions or changes in hiring or the nature of your operation. Also, get your agent's advice in terms of disaster planning. Ask what you can do to both reduce risks like fire or work-related accidents, as well as the procedures that should be in place in case your business does suffer a major catastrophe.

Having the right coverage and a well thought out disaster plan can save you money in the long run. It may even save your business from going under.

5. Ask about ways to prevent losses.

You may be able to reduce your premium for certain coverages by following your insurer's recommendations. These can include workplace safety, disaster preparation, and human resource intervention

Insurance companies reirque what is called an insurable interest. As long as you have a logical reason for insuring you mother then typically the carrier will let you. However, depending on the amount of coverage she already has most companies limit the amount of total insurance a person can own based on financial need. If you only talking about insuring her for a small amount, under $25,000, typically their is no issue of needing financial information to justify the coverage. If you are applying for coverage above $100,000 the insurance company may reirque that you show proof of financial need. You will need to have her permission and she will need to complete and sign the application and submit to any of the underwriting reirquements of the carrier. You can be the owner, payer and beneficiary of the policy but only with her consent.Insurance companies limit the aggregate (total) amount of insurance on a insured to prevent a beneficiary from profiting from a persons death. For example, if a person has a net worth of $100,000 the insurance company may allow the person to have. http://ftxhpxw.com lilpdtitnpn [link=http://ybfbcxshgen.com]ybfbcxshgen[/link]

First off, I have been a claims adstujer for 20+ years. Using a credit report to help determine rates is pure BS. As another poster stated many people with good credit suck at driving. Their the ones who are wealthy and too busy to pay attention while driving. I have investigated 1000 s of accidents and there is absolutely no correlation between bad credit and bad driving. I agree there is a correlation between good credit and the insurance company getting paid on time. That is their main concern. Using the credit report crap to charge higher rates is just a bonus to the company. And folks let's be clear about the myth that insurance is required in all states. It is NOT!! It certainly should be but it is not.People who are not in the insurance game (like nan6872) assume that insurance is required in all states because that is a logical conclusion, except when dealing with insurance and vehicle laws there is not much logic applied. There are many states that do not require mandatory insurance but instead require financial responsibility . For example I handle a lot of claims in Wisconsin. There are tons of insured drivers there drinking their great beer and driving home. Insurance is not mandatory there, however if you have an at-fault accident while uninsured the Dept of Transportation will revoke your license and registration if you do not sign a contract to repair the damages you are responsible for.

Choose a company with a good reputation. Check with the Better Business Bureau and read some online reviews for companies. If there are a large amount of negative comments and complaints, avoid getting involved. Try another company that may be more established. http://www.credit-debt-consolidation-loans.com
